2026 Mario Kart League of Champions

Racers will compete once per month from February through October until we crown the ultimate Mario Kart Champion. Compete once or compete every month to increase your odds of winning prizes and increase your chances of getting into the Champions Tournament in October.

Tournaments will take place on the last Wednesday of the month beginning at 6 PM. Each week we will have up to 16 racers (on a first come, first serve basis) compete in 3 Grand Prix races (4 races each). Maps will be determined by Old 121 each week. Each month the top 4 racers will win prizes and every racer entered in the league will accumulate points.

For the Champions Tournament on October 28, there will be 16 total racers. If a racer wins a monthly tournament, they are automatically qualified for the Champions Tournament. The remaining spots will go to the registered league racers with the highest point totals from the entire year -- compete in more months, accumulate more points. We will crown our 2026 Mario Kart Champion at the Champions Tournament.

Prizes:

• Monthly tournament winners receive a prizes from Old 121 and neighboring businesses -- 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place will receive a free beer or other merch from Old 121

• The racer with the most points at the end of the September tournament will receive a $99 gift card to the Nintendo Switch eShop

• The winners of our Champions Tournament will receive:

• 1st place: 2027 Old 121 Mug Club membership ($175 value) and Mario Kart Tournament of Champions Trophy

• 2nd place: 1 case of beer from Old 121 ($60 value)

• 3rd & 4th place: Gift cards to some of our favorite Lakewood partners

• All 16 racers: Custom Old 121 Mario Kart apparel

Official League rules:

• All races will be played on Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8

• Controllers will be provided by Old 121, but you are welcome to bring your own controller from home

• You do not have to be a member of the league to participate in monthly Mario Kart tournaments

• It is free to sign up

• You may join the league at any time during 2026 before September 30

• Members of the league must be 21 or older

• All races will be at 150 CC's

• Races each week will be determined by Old 121

• Tiebreakers each week will be determined by Old 121

• Racers may pick the character and kart of their choice -- but no Smart Steering will not be allowed

• 16 racers will be allowed to compete each month

• Signups will be on a first come, first serve basis, so arrive early

• Preference is not given to members of the league over non-league members for monthly sign ups

• Tournaments will take place on the last Wednesday of every month from 6 - 9 PM

Remember, if you miss a month, you still win monthly prizes and qualify for the Tournament of Champions in October, so race as much as you'd like!
